From Across the Waters: Voices for Immigration

What can words do in response to animosity and violence, often targeting immigrants and refugees? In the wake of last year's Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach and I started the Philadelphia reading series From Across the Waters: Voices for Immigration. Now a year strong, the series presents immigrants, first-generation Americans, and allies of immigrants writing across genres about immigration in today's America.

Our latest reading was November 21, 2019 at Haverford College
Featuring Rosebud Ben-Oni (New York), Ananda Lima (Chicago), paulA Neves (Newark).

Stay tuned for further events in the Philadelphia area in February and April 2020!
